【Oversea sales】 Make a new market? or grow existing market?

Hello.

Which would you choose to increase your gross sales when the present sales condition was bad?

1. Grow existing market.

2. Develop new market.

Each people may have different answer, because the order of prior, next growing sales, is not same. People who wants to treat existing customers(distributors and consumers), they would choose to grow present market, but people who are realize the limitation, they would develop new line of business.

~Grow existing market~

Especially for minor enterprises, if you already have some distributors in same type of market, it’s better to grow existing market. Even if minor company make business on new market, it’s hard to control price and customers, or making advertisement. Most easier way to increase gross sales is to, let distributors to administer of all sales things in their countries. You don’t need to learn for each countries electricity and trade regulations, and could increase sales promotion to multiple by cooperating with distributors.

It’s meaningless if you give up developing the present market within few years. To make a distributor and expand a single market, it takes times and energy. At first, you should be a professional of your industry by attending exhibitions, chat with related person, or search on internet. Your studies and connection of the market may leads you to dig the market, and increase the profit.

 

~Develop new market~

We think this is advance way for expand your market. You need to know about market’s feature and knowledge starts from beginning again. Before you start develop a new market, you should think carefully that, which market is most prospective, otherwise, when you will waste vast of cost and time in exchange for small profits. However, once you succeeded to make new market, you will get big sales and ensure of keep business.

While this COVID-19 pandemic, many of restaurants has been bankrupted due to peoples quarantine, they restricted to sell directly at stores, but convenience stores survive from this condition. That because they are selling several types of products, which means, they were selling to several markets. Even if single market gets worse, you will get a chance selling to the other markets.

 

There are no exact answers for doing businesses. Keep “try and error” and learn what should do for next. That positive attitude may move customers because peoples are choosing products which to buy by looking sales person.
