【Echo Tech】 Please read manual… (Ultrasonic cutter ZO series)

Sometimes, we have inquiries from overseas that user’s unit have broken.

“I hear weird sound from hand piece.”
“Unit stops activation soon after turned ON.”
“Feels like unit sharpness has deteriorated.”
“Why does LED lamp on unit is blink?”

Those answers are all mentioned on manual, and most of such inquiries are not serious unit trouble. Most reasons are user’s lack of maintenance or misunderstanding unit function.

About maintenance, there are 3 things we need users to pay attention.
1. Keep clean hand piece inside horn and parts.
2. Tighten blade anchor screw properly.
3. Replace deteriorate parts to new parts.

As it mentioned on manual, as longer as unit have used, parts will deteriorate, or screw loosens.
If user leaves unit’s such deterioration (part’s contamination and damage), unit might not work normally.

Sometimes we see users, misunderstanding unit function, mostly in 2 ways.

1. Limit of activation time

To prevent unit overload, ZO-91 and ZO-95 have a limit of continuous activation time.
When the activation time overs limit, unit automatically shuts down.
※If unit temperature has not increased as a level that protection circuit works, it could use continuously by turn it ON again. Once the unit has turned OFF, time limit will be reset.

(ZO-91)
10 min. after turned ON unit.

(ZO-95)
Normal mode/ 10 min.
High mode/ 5 min.
S-High mode/ 3 min.

ZO-95 produced after Oct. 2022; time limit start counts when the unit turned ON and the time accumulates even if the power mode has changed.

EX) After used Normal mode for 3 min. it continuously able to use…
Normal mode→ 7min.
High mode→ 2 min.
S-High mode→ Unit turns OFF when it shifted.

2. Alarm on Ultrasonic cutter ZO series

For ZO-91 and ZO-95, it has alarm light that shows unit trouble.
It is trouble but mostly it doesn’t need repair.

① High temperature shut-off mode
ZO-91/ Hand piece LED blinks
ZO-95/ Main unit alarm LED lights up

When unit temperature increased too much, unit detects it and stop activation. Turn OFF the unit, and please cool down at least 10 min. to use unit again.

② Safety shut-off mode
ZO-91/ Power indicator LED blinks
ZO-95/ Main unit alarm LED blinks

When the unit circuit detects overload on hand piece or blade anchor screw was not tightened properly, it becomes this mode and stops activation.

– Why does it need? –
Those functions are needed to use unit safety, longer. If there are no limit for unit activation, user might use forcibly or longer unconsciously, even though that usage leads unit deterioration.
