【Echo Tech】 Ultrasonic cutter ZO series, Cuttable and Uncuttable plastic.
Sometimes we have inquiries from ultrasonic cutter users,
“Could ultrasonic cutter ZO series cut plastic?”
As our key phrase is “cut plastic like butter”, most plastics are cuttable.
However, there are some plastic types, which are hard to cut.
What decides cuttable or not?
We separated each points in unit and material sides below.
Unit/ Unit model, Replacement blade, Power mode
Material/ Hardness, Thickness, Length
※Material’s terms could say to all other materials.
Points on unit’s side.
As a reference, standard blade HA04 could normally cut 1~3 mm depth, and long blades such as Long blade ZH10 and Square blade ZH41 are able to cut 1~4 mm depth.
Those cuttable depth are considered of using Normal mode. If it used High or S-High mode, each cuttable max. depth will extends about 1 mm.
Points on material’s side.
Each plastic type’s hardness are different.
For example, Polycarbonate, ABS which are comparatively soft plastic, blade smoothly cut deeply. On the contrary, Acryl, Poly-plastics, comparatively hard plastic, blade doesn’t smoothly proceed into it.
Try and confirm if your materials are cuttable!
We could not make assertion, if your materials are cuttable or not before testing.
Depends on small difference even in same material group, the outcome separates finely.
